Our coaches are the professionals who are key in developing and maintaining the high quality of the developmental, community, outreach and advanced programs we offer at our 20,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art facility and in our neighbouring community. We believe our club culture is one of the reasons we’re one of Canada’s top gymnastics clubs.

We have an immediate opening for one full-time (40 hours per week), Women’s Gymnastics Coach for our team (60% of coaching time) and other program coaching (40% of coaching time). Our goal is to further develop our competitiveness at local, provincial, national and international levels by engaging a technical expert in contemporary gymnastics to assist in the development of our athletes and coaches – from beginner to elite levels.  

This position is a fit for you if you have proven experience in, and technical knowledge of, the sport of gymnastics.

Position Responsibilities:
• Planning and Preparation – knowledge of skills progressions for advanced gymnastics, knowledge of participants and learning process, setting instructional outcomes, knowledge of use of equipment, design lesson plans, understand assessments, understand operational duties.
• Class Management and Class Environment – create an environment of safety, respect and engagement, establish a culture for learning, manage class procedures, manage participant behaviour
• Coaching Delivery – communicate and engage participants in learning, use question and feedback techniques • Professional Responsibilities – reflect on coaching, maintain accurate records, communication, peer development and team building, personal growth and development, professional behaviour
Essential Requirements:
• National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) or equivalent
• Passion for an active lifestyle, physical literacy and development of children
• Must be able to bear weight as required to spot or support athletes of all ages and abilities
• Must be able to be physically active including (but not limited to) movements such as: rotation, squatting, lifting, holding and others as required
• Must be able to navigate the gymnastics facility with ease
• Good understanding of class management and behaviour management
• Must be able to teach a class in English
• Understanding of long-term athlete development in sport
• Ability to use computer systems for attendance, payroll and report cards

Preferred Requirements:
• Education in relevant fields
• Judging certification
• Previous participation in the sport or activity of gymnastics
• Personal experience developing athlete from a pre-competitive level to an elite level Prior to Start of

Employment candidate will have to complete the following:
• First Aid Certification (we offer an in-house recertification program annually)
• Respect in Sport and Making Ethical Decisions (online courses)
• Criminal Record Check (for ages 18 and older)
