Coach/Coordinator, Interclub & High School Programs

Overview

This position is responsible for coaching our Interclub and High School programs, and is a great opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic, qualified coach to work with young people who want to grow their skills and their confidence. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and safe environment where athletes can improve their skills.
  • Ability to work with the rest of the coaching and administrative team.
  • Knowledge of gymnastics skills and assessment methods.
  • Ability to create progressive lesson plans with specific learning outcomes.  
  • Communicate with and engage athletes in the learning process.
  • Provide specific feedback and encouragement.
  • Class management and behaviour management skills.
  • Liaise with parents.
  • Coordinate attendance at performances as necessary.
  • Create training schedules for approval by the Team Manager.
  • Sets an example of professionalism, enthusiasm, and positivity within the organization.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • NCCP Level 1 or higher.
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Respect in Sport.
  • Making Ethical Decisions.
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and people skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with all coaches and administration.
  • A passion for gymnastics and working with youth.
  • Dependable, professional, positive team player.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends.
