Becoming a coach

Anyone can start the process of becoming a gymnastics coach: an athlete, parent or any other interested individual. Everyone starts on the same path to become a certified coach.

Coach certification

Gymnastics BC and the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) has training for all levels: from recreational coach to high performance advanced.

NCCP courses

All full member clubs are covered under the GBC insurance policy through All Sport Insurance. This policy provides the club's registered members with: accident insurance; general liability insurance; director and officer insurance

Ethics in coaching

The coach-athlete and coach-parent are privileged relationships. Coaches play a pivotal role in the personal and athletic development of their athletes. An understanding of the inherent power that coaches can exert over athletes is an extremely important notion.
