Sport BC to honour Brittany Rogers with Harry Jerome Comeback Award

Sport BC has announced that Brittany Rogers (Flicka) is the Harry Jerome Comeback Award winner for 2011. The award, presented by Canadian Direct Insurance, recognizes a BC amateur athlete who demonstrated great perseverance in the face of adversity — a trait that epitomizes the story of the 18-year old gymnast.

PLAY Gymnastics Launched in BC

Gymnastics BC launched the PLAY Gymnastics brand yesterday at separate events at Club Aviva Gymnastics in Coquitlam and Cartwheels Inc. in Surrey. This new provincial brand highlights the importance of recreational gymnastics as the first activity for all children in British Columbia.

Coaching Association of Canada publishes Long-Term Athlete Development for Parents document

Many parents are looking for answers to explain what is right for their child when it comes to athletic development.  As a coach, you need something that will help explain the facts in an easy, accurate, and user-friendly manner.  The Coaching Association of Canada, in coordination with Canadian Sport for Life, has created the following document: “Long-Term Athlete Development Information for Parents” to help coaches educate the parents of the children in their programs.
