Results from National Stream Cup

Team BC traveled to Edmonton to take part in the 2013 National Stream Cup this past weekend. Ilka Juk (Omega) won three medals including bronze in the National Novice competition. Other individual medalists were Grace Noble (Omega) and Madeline McPhee (TAG). The National Open women's team won bronze in the team competition.

B.C.'s Flicka Gymnastics one of six Canadian Clubs of Excellence

Flicka Gymnastics has been named one of six, Clubs of Excellence for women's artistic gymnastics by Gymnastics Canada for 2013. With their bronze level status, Flicka is the only club west of Ontario to achieve this status.

Five FIG men's artistic gymnastics judges in B.C.

The FIG hosted a Continental Judging Course in Montreal this past weekend. Following a series of exams, B.C. now has five FIG judges.

Re-certifying for the next quadrennial are Jeff Sutherland, Todd Sader and John Carroll. Joining them are Michael Hood who is returning to the FIG ranks and Chris Sheremeta who certified for the first time.

Gymnastics BC mourns the death of Chris Buccini

It is with great sadness that Gymnastics BC shares the news of the passing of Chris Buccini. A Gymnastics BC Member of Distinction and long-time coach of Trail Gymnastics, Chris passed away on Wednesday, January 2.
