Competition at the 2015 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Gatineau, Alberta wrapped up over the weekend. Team BC won 20 medals during the event with 8 of them gold!

Canada’s bid to host the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal has been provisionally accepted at an executive committee meeting of the international gymnastics federation (FIG) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

One hundred eight B.C. artistic and trampoline gymnasts from 20 clubs have qualified for the 2014 Canadian Gymnastics Championships. Team BC will compete at the championships in Ottawa from May 26 to 31. The athletes were named to the team following a series of trials held this winter and spring.

Russia dominates men's team event at FISU Games, Joshua Stuart and Canadians 17th

Russia dominated the men’s gymnastics team event at the World University Games on Monday while Canada placed 17th in a field of 24 countries.

The Russian squad, led by Olympians Denis Ablyazin and Emin Garibov, won the gold with a score of 273.150 points, followed by the Ukraine with 269.950 and Japan at 269.700.

Artistic gymnastics kicked off yesterday at the 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Ottawa. Team BC was well represented in the women's senior and junior qualifying competitions.

It was a golden weekend for 12-year-old gymnasts Shallon Olsen (Omega) and Rose-Kalam Woo (Montreal) at the Top Gym junior international meet.

In today's apparatus finals, Brittany Rogers (Flicka) won gold on the uneven bars and a bronze on vault. In the uneven bars final, Rogers scored 14.150 over Canada's Kristina Vaculik (13.950) and Korea's Seonmi Heo (13.500 ). In the very close vault final Ellie Black of Canada won the gold medal (13.988) edging Lais Souza of Brazil (13.963) and Rogers (13.838).
