Ontario continued its winning ways as Justin Karstadt won the men's all around final at the Canada Winter Games on Wednesday. Félix Dolci and Matthew Halickman, both from Quebec, won the silver and bronze medals.

B.C.'s top gymnast was Aaron Mah (Phoenix) who finished fourth. Mah, at his second Canada Winter Games, placed first on floor and high bar as he scored 79.450.

The 2013 Canadian artistic gymnastics season kicks into high gear this weekend in Alberta at the annual Elite Canada competition. Headlining the 27 athletes from B.C. are 2004 Olympian Ken Ikeda and senior national team members Scott Morgan, Robert Watson and Briannah Tsang. Competition begins on Friday, February 8 and wraps up on Sunday, February 10 at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park.

Bronze medal for Ken Ikeda in Japan

Twister's Ken Ikeda won a bronze medal on pommel horse at the Toyota Cup gymnastics meet this past weekend. Japanese Olympian Ryohei Kato won the gold medal. Ikeda, a 2004 Olympian also finished fifth on high bar and seventh on parallel bars.

Two Finals for Ken Ikeda at Maribor World Cup

Ken Ikeda (Twisters) was among four Canadians competing at a World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia over the weekend. On his best events, pommel horse and parallel bars, he qualified for the finals. On pommel horse, he scored 12.600 to finish 8th while on parallel bars he scored 14.400 to also finish in 8th.

BC Gymnasts qualify for Western Canadian Championships in Langley, BC!

62 artistic gymnasts from throughout the province qualified for Team BC, and the opportunity to compete in their home province at the 2012 Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships. The championships take place from May 3-5 at the Langley Events Centre in the Township of Langley. The athletes were named to the team following trials held at the Twisters Invitational in Abbotsford this past weekend.

Results from Pacific Rim Championships

Canada had a successful 2012 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships in Everett, Washington this past weekend. Jason Burnett and Rosannagh MacLennan won the men’s and women’s individual trampoline titles and Peng Peng Lee, all of Toronto, placed second in two women’s gymnastics event finals on Sunday to lead the Canadian team to ten medals on the final day on Sunday.

Another Olympic spot secured for Canada | Canadians compete in apparatus finals

Jason Burnett secured another Olympic spot for Canada today at the 2012 Visa International Gymnastics Competition. With his fourth place finish in in men's trampoline gymnastics qualifying, Canada will now send two women and one man to the 2012 Olympic Games.  Rosie MacLennan took the gold in the women's competition.
