The 2015 Western Canada Summer Games gymnastics competition wrapped up yesterday with the apparatus finals.

Leading Team BC was all around champion Cohen Kiers (Twisters) who won gold on parallel bars and high bar. He added two bronze on floor and pommel horse.

City of Edmonton to host 2016 Canadian Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics Championships

Gymnastics Canada is pleased to announce that Edmonton has been selected as the host city for the 2016 Canadian Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics Championships. Twelve gymnasts named to Team BC for the Western Canada Summer Games

Twelve B.C. artistic gymnasts from nine clubs have qualified for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games. Team BC will compete at the Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta this August. The athletes were named to the team following trials in Kelowna earlier this month.

Competition at the 2015 Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Okotoks, Alberta wrapped up over the weekend. Team BC won 83 medals during the event with 28 of them gold!

Team BC bounces to bronze at Canada Winter Games

On the final night of gymnastics competition at the Canada Winter Games, Team BC won the team trampoline bronze medal.

The team, comprised of Emily Schmidt (Kamloops), Poppy Quinlan (Shasta), Kyle Carragher (Shasta) and Curtis Gerein (Okanagan), scored 68.400 for the bronze.

Trampoline debuts at the 2015 Canada Winter Games

Curtis Gerein (Okanagan) entered the Canada Winter Games history books yesterday as the Games first trampoline athlete to compete. In front of a packed house Gerein and the rest of the athletes wowed the crowd with their high flying routines.

Joining Gerein on the inaugural Team BC was Kyle Carragher (Shasta), Emily Schmidt (Kamloops) and Poppy Quinlan (Shasta).

The artistic gymnastics competition wrapped up today at the 2015 Canada Winter Games with the apparatus finals. Nine B.C. gymnasts were in action with Shallon Olsen (Omega) and Aaron Mah (Phoenix) winning a combined five medals.

Aaron Mah top B.C. all arounder at CWG

Ontario continued its winning ways as Justin Karstadt won the men's all around final at the Canada Winter Games on Wednesday. Félix Dolci and Matthew Halickman, both from Quebec, won the silver and bronze medals.

B.C.'s top gymnast was Aaron Mah (Phoenix) who finished fourth. Mah, at his second Canada Winter Games, placed first on floor and high bar as he scored 79.450.

Olsen and Kaji finish top 7 at Canada Winter Games

Reigning Canadian junior champion Rose-Kaying Woo of La Prairie, Que., won gold in the women’s all around final at the Canada Winter Games on Tuesday. B.C.'s Shallon Olsen (Omega) finish less than a point behind to win the silver. Megan Roberts of Toronto rounded out the Canada Games podium.

Team B.C. won its second bronze medal on Monday at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.

The men's team featuring Aaron Mah (Phoenix), Steven Chaplin (Twisters), Michael Sibley (Flicka), Camerson Stanley (Langley), Alexander Farquharson (Delta) and Darren Wong (Phoenix) scored 309.709 points to finish behind Ontario (325.240) and Quebec (323.642).

B.C. won a bronze medal on the the opening day of competition at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

The women's team featuring Shallon Olsen (Omega), Clair Kaji (Flicka), Itzia San Roman (Phoenix), Seina Cho (Omega), Haley de Jong (Flicka) and Ilka Juk (Omega) scored 218.600 points to finish behind Quebec (227.150) and Ontario (223.550).

CWG - Emily Schmidt and Kyle Carragher lead first TG trials

Emily Schmidt (Kamloops) led the women's field at B.C's first trials for 2015 Canada Winter Games trampoline gymnastics team. Schmidt scored 60.700, just ahead of Jane Harrigan (Shasta) who scored 60.600. Poppy Quinlan (Shasta) rounded out the top three as she scored 58.400.

Team BC wins 11 medals at 2014 Western Canada Cup

Team BC logoTeam BC won 11 medals at this past weekend's Western Canada Cup in Calgary. Leading the way was Abby McDonald (Okanagan) with four medals.

McDonald was third in the all around competition as she won gold in the women's Provincial 4 DMT and added bronze medals in the Provincial 4 trampoline and Provincial 4 tumbling.

Artistic gymnastics kicks off at the 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships

Artistic gymnastics kicked off yesterday at the 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Ottawa. Team BC was well represented in the women's senior and junior qualifying competitions.

Defending junior champion, Shallon Olsen (Omega) leads the juniors into Thursday's finals. Olsen was first on vault with a score of 16.100 while finishing in second on beam and floor and third on uneven bars. Aleeza Yu (Ontario) and Brianna Clark (Quebec) were in second and third.

2012 Canadians: BC's Shallon Olsen tops Junior Qualifying; Brittany Rogers 8th in Senior

Day one of the 2012 Canadian Championships is complete following the conclusion of the women's artistic Junior and Senior qualifying competitions.

Shallon Olsen (Omega) leads the junior women into the finals scoring 55.650 ahead of Rose-Kalam Woo (Quebec) and Aleeza Yu (Ontario). Olsen had competition best scores on vault (15.900) and floor (14.050). Other BC gymnasts were: Nicole Chow (TAG, T12th), Taylor Chan (TAG, 15th), Makinli Handley (OGC, 19th) and Clair Kaji (Flicka) who only competed on bars.
