Nica de Guzman (Delta) and Linnea Ganstal (Kamloops) are the newest 2015 Gymnastics BC champions.

De Guzman won a very close JO 6 (2003) competition by a mere 0.100 points over Bridget McLean (Balance) and 0.450 points ahead of Alicia Liu (Club Aviva). She also won silver on beam and bronze on vault.

Nine medals for B.C. athletes at Canada Cup trampoline competition

In the last national meet before qualifications begin for the 2015 Pan American Games next year in Toronto, Olympians Rosie MacLennan and Karen Cockburn resumed dominance in Canada, winning gold and silver on individual trampoline at the Canada Cup from July 24-27.

Gymnastics BC athletes won nine medals including five gold. Leading the way was Shasta's Kyle Carragher who won the men's junior DMT title, added silver in Junior trampoline and bronze with Ben Blais (Shasta) in senior synchro.

Russia dominates men's team event at FISU Games, Joshua Stuart and Canadians 17th

Russia dominated the men’s gymnastics team event at the World University Games on Monday while Canada placed 17th in a field of 24 countries.

The Russian squad, led by Olympians Denis Ablyazin and Emin Garibov, won the gold with a score of 273.150 points, followed by the Ukraine with 269.950 and Japan at 269.700.

The Canadian team finished 17th with 239.950 points.

Shallon Olsen wins second junior Canadian title | Silver for Robert Watson

Team BC's Shallon Olsen (Omega) won her second straight junior women's Canadian title on Thursday at the 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Ottawa. Olsen placed first on floor and vault and 8th on both uneven bars and beam for a score of 55.475 points as she edged Aleeza Yu (Ontario) and Brianna Clark (Ontario).

Five medals for B.C. trampoline gymnasts at 2013 Elite Canada

Brittany Rogers seventh in Olympic Vault Final | Surprise Gold Medalist

BC's Brittany Rogers (Flicka) was seventh in today's Olympic vault final in London. Leading off the competition, Rogers landed two strong vaults for a combined score of 14.483. Canada's other competitor in the final, Ellie Black, fell on her first vault and an ankle injury forced her to not complete her second.

Best Ever Fifth Place Finish for Team Canada at Olympics

Earlier today, the Canadian women's gymnastics team put their names in the history book with a 5th place finish in the team final! BC Gymnasts qualify for Western Canadian Championships in Langley, BC!

62 artistic gymnasts from throughout the province qualified for Team BC, and the opportunity to compete in their home province at the 2012 Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships. The championships take place from May 3-5 at the Langley Events Centre in the Township of Langley. The athletes were named to the team following trials held at the Twisters Invitational in Abbotsford this past weekend.
