Kamloops Sport Legacy Fund invests in new vault for Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline Centre

Kamloops, B.C.—February 26, 2018— The Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund has made a strategic investment in a new vault for Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline Centre (KGTC), leveraged through some unique local funding. KGTC, a Gymnastics BC member club, partnered with the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games Society to seek support from the Kamloops Sport Society’s Sport Legacy Fund to cover equipment and facilities assets to assist in the long-term sustainability of sport development and facilities. The successful grant application resulted in a funding partnership between KGTC and the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games Society in the purchase of a new vault.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Kamloops Blazer Foundation and the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games Society for their investment in local gymnastics,” says Brian Forrester, Gymnastics BC CEO. “The new vault played a key role during practice and athlete development workshops during the 2018 BC Winter Games, and will continue to provide meaningful training and development opportunities for years to come.”

About the Sport Legacy Fund

The Sports Legacy Fund is an investment in the sporting community of Kamloops and surrounding region by the Kamloops Blazers Sports Society and Blazers Sports Foundation. It has been established as a result of the 2007 sale of the WHL Kamloops Blazers Hockey franchise and by the commitment of the members of these organizations to sustainable sport initiatives through opportunity, growth and excellence.

The Society recognizes both financial and organizational support as valuable use of the income from the Legacy Fund. Wherever possible, financial support is accompanied by efforts to build the capacity and effectiveness of amateur sport organizations.
