Surrey Gymnastic Society is a not-for-profit organization located in Central Surrey, just 30 minutes from the heart of Vancouver.  SGS is recognized in BC as one of the leading competitive gymnastic centers in the Greater Vancouver area.

SGS is presently seeking an Operations Manager who is a dynamic individual with proven communication skills to provide vision, planning, mentorship and coaching within the program.

This individual will have the following qualifications or equivalents:

  • University degree or college diploma in recreation and leisure studies, sports administration, or other related discipline
  • N.C.C.P. Level 3 certification (theory and technical)
  • Minimum 5 years progressive coaching experience coaching up to National caliber
  • Demonstrated track record in the areas of program development, staff supervision, customer service
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Good interpersonal skills and judgement
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule supporting all club operational hours
  • Must be a multi-tasker and be able to prioritize projects and responsibilities
  • Able to troubleshoot and find alternatives / make suggestions and act quickly
  • Is able to create a cohesive and inclusive atmosphere for employees
  • Can lead a team environment
  • Is passionate about working with youth


Main Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure all SGS programs, projects and other fundraising initiatives are running smoothly.  He/she will oversee the day-to-day operations of the gym facility.

More specifically, the Operations Manager will monitor and analyze the current programs in the gym to check whether it is effective and working out a strategy for improving if necessary. 

He/she will plan and prepare gym utilization strategies to maximize resources and optimize revenue generation.

He/she will recommend plan and strategies to improve the day-to-day operations of the gym and will communicate regularly to the CEO.

This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week work schedule with a minimum of 20 coaching hours (may vary depending on the necessity).
