Aaron Mah signs with California Golden Bears

Head coach Brett McClure announced Wednesday that the California men's gymnastics team signed one recruit to a national letter of intent. Canadian junior national team gymnast Aaron Mah will join the Golden Bears in the fall of 2015 and brings with him a lot of high-level experience and promise.

“We are so thrilled to have Aaron join the Cal gymnastics family,” said McClure. He has already had such a tremendous career, including National Champion status this year, and we feel extremely privileged to help him continue his success in and out of the gymnastics arena.”

Mah, a Vancouver, B.C. native, competes for the Vancouver Phoenix at the club level and is a member of the men’s junior national team for Canada. He recently claimed the all-around title at the 2014 Canadian Championships in Ottawa, highlighted by his individual event title in the high bar competition.

He also won the high bar and parallel bar events at the 2013 edition of the Canadian Championships in 2013, placing fourth overall in the all-around competition. Additionally, Mah helped the Canadian team place third at the Pacific Rim Championships in Richmond, B.C. in 2014.

The Bears open this season on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. when they host “The Big Meet” against Stanford at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley. The full 2014 schedule can be found on the team’s page at CalBears.com here.
