More communication and less conflict

I have a belief. No, that isn’t my attempt at a Martin Luther King “I have a dream” moment, it’s much simpler and one you’ve probably heard many times. But, I do feel it’s worth sharing, if only as a reminder.

I believe open and clear communication is the single most effective way to resolve conflict. But my belief goes deeper; I think communication is the best way to avoid conflict.

Elite Canada this weekend

Canada’s top gymnasts will by vying for titles in novice, junior and senior events over three days of competition beginning Friday in Trois-Rivières, Québec.

Two-time all around Canadian champion Ellie Black of Halifax highlights the women’s senior event with 2014 world team members Maegan Chant of Waterdown, Ont., and Isabela Onyshko of Minnedosa, Man., also in the mix.

John Carroll announced as finalist for Sport BC Official of the Year

John Carroll (Surrey, Gymnastics BC) was announced as one of the three finalists for the Official of the Year for the 49th Sport BC Annual Awards.

A FIG judge since 1993, Carroll has judged at numerous international competititions. In 2014, he represented Canada at the world championships, Commonwealth Games and Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships. In February he will be judging at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
