Canadian teams announced for world championships

 

Three B.C. athletes have been nominated to represent Canada at the upcoming world championships in Glasgow, Scotland from October 23 to November 1. Zachary Clay (Twisters), Ken Ikeda (Twisters) and Scott Morgan (Flicka) have been selected for the men's artistic gymnastics team.

Darren Wong and Chris Kaji taking part in Belgium camp/competition

Darren Wong (Vancouver Phoenix) and Chris Kaji (Richmond) will represent B.C. and Canada at a training camp and competition in Belgium. Taking place October 18 to 26 in Mons, Belgium, the Canadians will train with teams from Germany and Belgium. The week-long camp will culminate with a friendly competition.

2016 Elite Canada Artistic taking place in Halifax

Gymnastics Canada is pleased to announce that Halifax has been selected as the host city for the 2016 Elite Canada Artistic Gymnastics Competition. The competition will be hosted by Gymnastics Nova Scotia, Halifax Alta Gymnastics Club, Taiso Gymnastics Training Centre, and Titan’s Gymnastics and Trampoline Club and will be held at the Canada Games Centre from February 4 to 7, 2016.

TG athletes competing around the world

It's a busy fall for GBC's trampoline gymnastics athletes as they compete around the world.

Six B.C. athletes will represent Canada at the upcoming world championships in Odense, Denmark from November 26 to 29. Trevor Stirling (Okanagan) joins Jason Burnett (Toronto), Keegan Soehn (Red Deer) and Kyle Soehn (Red Deer) on the men's trampoline team. Samantha Smith (Okanagan) returns to the world championships alongside Rosie MacLennan (Toronto), Karen Cockburn (Toronto) and Samantha Sendel (Aurora).

GymBC staffing update: Keara Hooi hired as GFA Manager

Gymnastics BC welcomes Keara Hooi as the Gymnastics For All Manager. Keara will manage and promote recreational gymnastics programming in B.C. She will also work on programming opportunities that are inclusive and accessible for all.
