About Nik Stuart and the Nik Stuart Foundation

Nik Stuart, who passed away on  June 24, 2002, was one of Britain’s greatest gymnasts. As a European silver medallist and 9 time British Men’s Champion he remains one of the nation’s greatest sportsmen and a name that is legend throughout the gymnastics world. During the fifties and the sixties he was a member of a small and unique group of international gymnasts who created the competitive sport that we know today. Across Britain he came to be known as “Mr. Gymnastics”.

In 2003 the Nik Stuart Foundation was inaugurated to observe his example in the fellowship and culture of gymnastics, with the ethos and aims to befriend, serve, encourage, help, honour and award, exceptional persons associated with the many facets of gymnastics, who, by their example or endeavour, integrity, sportsmanship and ambassadorship, serve to inspire others.
