"I am so ecstatic, the crowd is absolutely incredible," MacLennan told CBC Sports minutes after winning gold. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in front of the home crowd."

“The score I put up wasn’t my best, but I’m really happy I’m on the podium,” Cockburn said. “After that routine I thought: Oh my god, if I get fourth again, like I did in London, I’ll be pretty upset. It’s fun to win a medal here at home.”

Keegan Soehn (AB), the defending Men's Pan Am Games Champion, also repeated, winning the gold medal, with a total score of 56.405.

“There’s been a lot of lead-up to this. Everyone knew I was defending champion, so I really wanted put on a good show and I ended up pulling it off,” said Soehn. “The home crowd was fantastic. It felt like I could do no wrong when I hopped up on the tramp.”

Jason Burnett had a strong final routine (total score: 55.090) but was pushed to fourth place in the men's competition.

“Today was a bit of a disappointment for me,” said Burnett after the event. “I was hoping to be at least on the podium but that didn’t happen but I am very happy to see my teammate Keegan take home the gold.”

Next up for these athletes are the Canadian Championships which take place from July 24-27 in Calgary, AB.
