Gavin Dodd Wins Gold at 2015 Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competition

Gavin Dodd of Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline Center (KGTC) is a gold medal winner. Despite his

nerves, Dodd laid down two of the more difficult passes of the group to finish with a score of 65.900, defeating Isa Deveev of Russia and Zak Perzamanos of Great Britian who tied for second with a score of 64.200. 12 year old Dodd started competing with KGTC at the age of six, and was excited for the opportunity test his skills on the international stage: “It was really cool to be able to win the medal and just really cool to see how everything worked [at an international competition].”

At the Gymnastics BC (GBC) 2015 Awards and Scholarship Reception in November, Dodd was named the National Level Male Athlete of the Year, an honor that recognizes the highest ranked national level male trampoline athlete who is training and competing in BC. GBC’s Trampoline Gymnastics Coordinator Debbie McBoyle says that Dodd has “a brilliant future ahead of him” – we can’t wait to see what he does next.
