Judging Requirements

As per GymBC’s Policy all judges must be active members of Gymnastics BC in good standing.

Judges may be registered through their affiliated clubs, or they may register as independents if their club does not manage their membership or if they are unaffiliated.

Criminal Record Checks for Judges

Criminal Record Checks are not required for judges at provincial events, however they may be required for judges to be on the floor of events such as Westerns, Canadian Championships, Elite Canada, and more. Per GymBC's screening policy it is suggested for judges to have completed a CRC including a vulnerable sector search.

Commit to Kids

Commit to Kids is an online training for those who work with children either through a paid or volunteer basis. It handles issues such as grooming, child sexual abuse, and steps you can take to protect children.

CAC Safesport Training

The Coaching Association of Canada's Safesport Training can be completed free through the locker. It will help provide you with knowledge and skills to recognize, address and prevent maltreatment in sport.

The Respect in Sport program educates youth leaders, coaches, officials and participants (14-years and up) to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination (BAHD).
