For Immediate Release
VANCOUVER, BC — Gymnastics BC (GymBC) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026–2031 Strategic Plan for Gymnastics in BC, a roadmap that will guide the organization and gymnastics community over the next five years.
Built through a collaborative consultation process, the Strategic Plan establishes GymBC’s priorities, goals, and performance measures while reinforcing a commitment to strong governance, transparency, accountability, and member-focused leadership.
The planning process included a review of previous strategic priorities, annual member survey feedback, facilitated workshops with Board and staff leadership in partnership with Toa Consulting, and member engagement opportunities following the 2025 Annual General Meeting. A dedicated Strategic Plan Working Group, consisting of Board members and the CEO, further refined the plan prior to its approval by the Board of Directors.
At the heart of the Strategic Plan is a focus on rebuilding and sustaining trust across the gymnastics system in British Columbia through transparent, values-led governance and decision-making.
“Our Strategic Plan reflects a shared commitment to shaping a stronger future for gymnastics in British Columbia,” said Chantelle Yates, Chair of the Board of Directors. “At its core, this plan is about strengthening trust — in our governance, our systems, and our collective ability to move the sport forward together. We are committed to leading with integrity, acting transparently, and ensuring gymnastics in BC continues to evolve in a thoughtful and sustainable way.”
The Strategic Plan is grounded in GymBC’s renewed Vision, Mission, and organizational Values:
Vision: Inspiring quality, inclusive gymnastics for life.
Mission: Shaping the future of gymnastics by strengthening pathways for participation, performance, and lifelong engagement.
The organization’s work over the next five years will also be guided by eight core values:
- Integrity
- Collective Responsibility
- Intentional
- Adaptive Stewardship
- Safety
- Culture of Belonging
- Innovation
- Elevate
Together, these values reinforce GymBC’s commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and high-quality experiences for participants across all levels and disciplines of the sport.
“The release of this Strategic Plan marks the beginning of its activation and our accountability to its execution,” added Yates. “We are grateful to the members, volunteers, technical leaders, and partners who contributed their insight throughout this process, and we look forward to working together to bring this vision to life.”
The full 2026–2031 Strategic Plan is now available on the Gymnastics BC website.
