For Immediate Release
Vancouver, BC (September 21, 2023) – Gymnastics BC (GymBC) is announcing that Chief Executive Officer Nigel Loring has decided to leave GymBC to pursue new challenges. His departure will be effective November 19, 2023.
“Nigel is a great and successful CEO and has done a remarkable job of leading GymBC through the Return to Sport Plan while also encouraging change and better governance to make the organization stronger than when he arrived into the role,” said Board Chair Jennifer Lyster. “I know this has been a tough and difficult decision for Nigel and the Board sincerely regrets that he will be leaving the organization. Nigel’s dedication and passion for team work and professionalism played a vital role in his leadership style and the amazing team of staff he cultivated.”
Since joining GymBC in early 2021, Loring has had the pleasure and privilege of working with a group of dedicated staff and board members – leading the strong team who have been up for tackling the challenges of our time. “I have truly enjoyed my experience working alongside so many outstanding volunteer members and gymnastics professionals throughout the province. It has been inspirational to be part of such a vibrant and motivated community. I look forward to making a smooth transition with as little disruption as possible to the positive momentum that GymBC has established,” CEO Loring said. “I am proud to have been part of this team and have all the confidence in the world that they will continue to be successful in the future.”
Committed to a smooth transition, Loring will continue to lead GymBC and work with the GymBC Board of Directors in the search for a successful successor.
“Please join me and the GymBC Board of Directors in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Nigel, for his outstanding contributions and in wishing him the very best in all his future pursuits,” stated Lyster.
